Unused Prepaid Credit Refund Policy

webElect utilizes prepaid credits to pay for services in which we incur costs at time of usage.  Due to the fleeting nature of campaigns, we must do this to protect ourselves from campaigns terminating prior to paying for the service costs that we incur.

This presents an issue when prepaid credits remain after the campaign has completed.  Florida Statutes do not permit a candidate to use funds from one campaign to prepay for services for a future campaign so we will not allow prepaid credits to carry forward to help ensure campaign's do not violate the statutes.  We will refund unused credits upon request (less a 3% processing fee which we incur for the initial transaction) up to 60 days after the campaign's final election date or subscription expiration date.  Credits can only be refunded to the accounts that funded the credits using a LIFO method, provided the account is still open.  Keep in mind that if the initial prepaid credit purchase was filed as an expense in a campaign finance report, you must properly report (or amend) the refund.

Any prepaid credits amounts that are not refunded 60 days after the final election date or subscription expiration date will be donated to a Florida based charity of our choosing.  We will update this page with a list of the donated amounts and recipient charity each year.
